New co-op FPS game announced, Starship Troopers: Extermination

Offworld Industries, developer and publisher of FPS games such as Squad, and the 50v50 multiplayer Beyond the Wire, has just announced a new upcoming 12-player PvE co-op FPS game called Starship Troopers: Extermination. If the name sound familiar to you might be because it is inspired by the 1997 film Starship Troopers.

Game overview

The official blurb reads: "Starship Troopers: Extermination drops up to 12 players right into the fight against the Bug menace in this co-op first-person shooter. Suit up and ship out to a far-off front as a Trooper in the Deep Space Vanguard, an elite Special Forces group within the Mobile Infantry. It’s up to squads like yours to battle against hundreds of bloodthirsty insectoid aliens and takes back fallen colonies for the Federation."

“Work together to complete objectives, acquire resources, build and defend your base of operations, and then escape to the extraction point together.”

The game also includes a decent amount of features that leave an intriguing idea of what defines this title. These are:

• Cooperative Gameplay.

• Three Playable Classes.

• Build Defenses.

• Class Progression System.

• 5 Unique Bug Types.

• Escalating Infestation Levels.

• Large-scale Battles.

• Ground War.

• Ping System.

It is stated on the Steam page that more early access features and information to be shared soon. So we might have even more content in store waiting for us when the game comes out.

Offworld Industries have experience creating games set in battlegrounds, which assures an interesting game to play along with your friends. Starship Troopers: Extermination is set inSteam Early Access in 2023.
