IO Interactive recently revealed the first details about 007 First Light, and we finally got our first look at the new James Bond game. During the State of Play event, the studio unveiled a trailer that delivers exactly what fans have been waiting for: an action-packed adventure with striking visuals.
As the studio hinted earlier, 007 First Light tells the origin story of James Bond. Players will see the secret agent in his younger, bolder, and more adventurous days. Bond is only 26 years old and not yet a seasoned spy, so he will still make some rookie mistakes along the way.
The story kicks off when Bond decides to join MI6, one of the toughest spy training programs in the world. His goal is to become the top agent, but many obstacles lie ahead. While the storyline is original, familiar characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny will be present.

Fans will also get to know Greenway, Bond’s mentor, who will play a key role in his early days. The gameplay will include combat, vehicular action, stealth mechanics, and more, promising a rich and varied experience.
The game is confirmed for the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch 2, and is expected to arrive sometime in 2026.
