Ubisoft won’t have a virtual showcase this year

This summer, we won’t have any news from Ubisoft

Even though we’ll miss the E3 experience this year, a lot will be going on this week. Many companies choose to showcase their announcements individually, so, as you can imagine, there will be tons of streaming to do! From the Summer Game Fest to the Netflix Geeked Week and the Xbox & Bethesda, this week will be a big one for the gaming industry.

But wait a minute… and Ubisoft?

As we already know, for many years, Ubisoft was one of the must-see events of the summer. Even on their own, the announcements arrived flawlessly. But this summer will be different. For the first time in years, the French company won’t be having a virtual event. Shocking as it sounds, it’s also very accurate; a Ubisoft rep notified Axios that the company wouldn’t advertise anything this summer.

Undoubtedly, the Summer Game Fest looked like it was missing something…

On the bright side, even though we won’t hear anything from Ubisoft right now, the company may be featuring a virtual event later this year. The Ubisoft rep also confirmed that, for the time being, they are working on upcoming announcements, but they’ll be released for the Holidays. This suspiciously looks like a strategic move from Ubisoft; they will announce new games and updates after The Game Awards by postponing the event. Smart.

Let’s keep in mind that right now, Ubisoft is also in the public eye after being accused of workplace exploitation. So the company is not at its best right now. But, hopefully, we will get some pleasant news later this year.
