In 1.5 Years PlayStation 5 sales top 20 million

However, PS5 is still way behind PS4

According to GamesIndustry PlayStation 5 has sold 20 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2020.

Sony’s console has enjoyed continued popularity even after the global shortage of components… actually, it could have hit that milestone earlier if the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t interfere.

The company announced that it is planning a 'significant ramp-up' in console production during the remainder of the year.

"We are thrilled to share that Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has sold more than 20 million PlayStation 5 consoles globally," said Veronica Rogers, SVP, Head of Global Sales and Business Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Rogers noted that they had worked tirelessly to deliver a truly next-gen gaming console, which in their eyes has won the world over and the only thing they want is to take this time to thank the fans for their support.

More PS5 for the people!

We are sure that there are plenty of people without a PS5, but don’t worry, as we said before Sony is planning on a significant ramp-up in PS5 production this year, and will work endlessly to make sure that there is a console available for everyone who wants one.

So, you better be ready if you are still looking for a PS5… 2022 may be the year!
