Tomonobu Itagaki is a Japanese game designer best known for creating the Dead or Alive series and directing the reboot of Ninja Gaiden, certainly, this man has given us unforgettable pieces.
However! A few days ago, Itagaki announced the launch of Apex Game Studios, his brand new studio focused on NFT games, being its debut title an MMORPG called Warrior.
The title will be developed within Web 3 and aims to solve the performance and security issues of GameFi 1.0 and achieve GameFi 2.0
Apex Game Studios is as big as you can imagine
Warrior is set to launch a beta version for mobile and PC in the first quarter of 2023, and the team at Apex Game Studios is putting all its effort to make it succeed with a team of over 100 employees based mainly in Japan and Singapore.
“The Warrior Project is about to make its initial decentralized exchange offering, or IDO, and release the first Alpha version, and a series of Giveaway events are ongoing in the communities,” according to a press release from Apex Game Studios.
It added: “Itagaki expressed that one of the main characteristics a blockchain game must have to succeed is to be a real game that is fun and attracts attention — precisely what his team wants to achieve with Warrior.”
Nonetheless Itagaki new venture focused on NFTs and blockchain is not what fans were expecting and some expressed their disappointment on Twitter.

An interesting decision as the NFT market collapsed with a 92% decline from its latest peak in September of last year. For each their own, I guess…
