This is what you have to pay to get everything unlockable in MultiVersus

Some skins and other extras can only be bought with real money

The Warner Bros. brawler’s open beta will be available for everyone on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on July 26, but early access started today for those who played the closed Alpha, won codes via Twitch drops, or paid for a Founder’s Pack bundle (costing between $40 and $100).

Right now, there are two types of currency available: coins, which we can earn through playing the game, and Gleamium, which we can only buy with real money. However, it seems like a significant portion of the game's cosmetics can only be purchased using Gleamium, which means we can't acquire them through gameplay for now.

Although MultiVersus will be free to play starting next week when its open beta phase begins for all users, players who want to get the most out of it can purchase three types of Founder's Pack:

Is Gleamium expensive?

Gleamium comes in four presentations:

  • 450 for $4.99
  • 1,000 for $9.99
  • 2,200 for $19.99
  • 6,000 for $49.99

In the beginning, only five characters out of 16 are playable. The rest can be unlocked using the game's currency or paying 700 Gleamium for each one, or a total of 7,700 to get them all. In most of the other game's categories, we can unlock a bunch of items through in-game play, either by reaching certain experience levels with the characters or by progressing through the free-to-play version of the Battle Pass.

This can be detailed in full in VGC's MultiVersus unlockables guide, which breaks down every unlockable and how to acquire it:

  • Character skins – 17 in total, 13 are Gleamium-only (total cost is 14,450, at least $125)
  • Ringout VFX animations – 14 in total, 9 are Gleamium-only (total cost is 9,600, at least $85)
  • Taunts – 16 in total, 13 are Gleamium-only (total cost is 5,300, at least $50)
  • Sticker emotes – 5 in total, 2 are Gleamium-only (total cost is 300, at least $5)
  • Banners – 8 in total, 1 is Gleamium-only (total cost is 350, at least $5)

The total cost of all of these is exactly 30,000 Gleamium. Nonetheless, some skins, ringout VFX, taunts, stickers, and banners can only be obtained through the Premium Battle Pass, which costs 300 for a total of 30,300 Gleamium. The cheapest way to buy this would be five packs of 6,000 Gleamium and a single pack of 450, at a total cost of $254.94
