Kid harasses women on Twitch "because it's fun"; they ban him from the platform

The minor's behavior caused outrage and anger in the community

Sadly, the gaming industry and streaming platforms still suffer harassment, toxicity, misogyny comments, and many of these behaviors that harm the community.

Although all people can suffer and be vulnerable to these behaviors, it's undeniable that women who dabble in content creation, especially gaming-related, have to deal with all types of misogyny and sexist comments.

People don’t usually think about how these toxic behaviors that some people have in the community can affect the younger generation of the same audience and how those younger people can consider this type of behavior to be standard and adapt it to their daily lives. Unfortunately, as proven as mentioned, we got this outrageous case where a little kid gained fame for sexual harassment of women Twitch streamers; the worst part it’s his justification.

YOUNG STREAMER INFURS COMMUNITY FOR MOCKING WOMEN ON TWITCH

This week, the streamer Amanderz shared a video clip on her Twitter account where you can observe a little kid streaming while reacting to one of her live transmissions playing Fall Guys; so far, everything sounds good; the problem comes when we get to hear what this young kid is saying.

All indicates this kid is between 11 and 12 years old. In the video, you will hear sexist comments about the woman’s Twitch streaming body. Then how he says in a burlesque tone that she is his girlfriend and they have been dating for two months.

In all of the boy's speech, we don't even know what the worst part is, but without a doubt, one of the most alarming was the fact that he mentions that he will go to the broadcasts of other streamers "because harassing women is fun and generates content." He also suggests that he will join the streamer's discord community to harass members.

As the same streamer mentions in her tweet, “she is scared of the new generations of kids.” Which seems fair enough. As expected, the post went viral and received all kinds of comments, mainly disapproving of the child's behavior.

This has reached Twitch, and the streaming platform banned the boy's account. However, many claim this issue will persist until the platform punishes other high-profile content creators who will foster toxic attitudes on their live streams.

The gaming industry needs to put better moderation tools for both video games and streaming platforms, condemn these behaviors as soon as they are seen and not allow any content creator to encourage this type of toxic behavior in their content.
