Goat Simulator 3 reveals its release date; will have a collector's edition

Devs also explain the mystery behind the name of the game

One of the video games that nobody expected to be announced at the last Summer Game Fest 2022 event was Goat Simulator 3, and before you ask: hey, when was Goat Simulator 2 released? Don't be fooled; it is the franchise's second title despite what the name indicates.

We have good news about the game, as its release date has been confirmed. Coffee Stain Studios confirmed the date, which announced that Goat Simulator 3 would be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) starting on November 17, 2022.

In case you don't remember the trailer or if you missed that big moment of the event, we think it's worth taking a look at the trailer as it was pretty comical and unexpected the way it was announced:

GOAT SIMULATOR 3 WILL HAVE A COLLECTOR'S EDITION

That's right; the good news has not ended since several game versions have been announced. The Standard Edition will cost $29.99 and only include the base game; The Deluxe Edition will be priced at $39.99, including a digital soundtrack and various customization items.

This is what the Deluxe Edition will include:

Suppose you are a fanatic gamer collecting special editions of your favorite video games. In that case, we present “Goat in a Box,” an incredible version worthy of a collector that will include the physical base game, a steelbook, the soundtrack on disc, a reversible poster, postcards, and an adorable stuffed animal and all the Deluxe Edition digital content. It sounds incredible, but unfortunately, the price has not yet been disclosed.

WHY IS THE GAME CALLED GOAT SIMULATOR 3 INSTEAD OF 2?

The developers finally clarified the mystery behind the game's name on the official PlayStation blog. However, the same creatives launched funny comments to answer the great riddle.

"It's been so long since the original installment came out that Goat Simulator 2 as a title simply didn't encapsulate all the advances in simulation technology that we've implemented," joked Sebastian Zethraeus, the game's producer. “There was a reason, but I forgot about it,” said Philip Bretschneider, a 3D artist.
