Death Stranding, the former PlayStation exclusive might arrive at the Xbox Game Pass

A new hint from Game Pass' Twitter account suggests so

It's been nearly three years since the first version of Death Stranding came out for the PlayStation 4. Since then, the title has been released on PC via 505 Games, followed by a second Director's Cut version on PC and PS5. However, Sam Porter Bridges may soon be delivering to a new client.

Kojima Productions' first game as an independent studio is Death Stranding. Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear) left Konami after the cancellation of Silent Hills and the end of the development of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Sony helped to fund the development by sending experts to advise the team and providing the Decima Engine (Horizon: Zero Dawn). In exchange, Death Stranding was a PlayStation exclusive for some time.

The title was released on PC by 505 Games on July 14, 2020, then on PC and PS5 in September 2021 in Death Stranding Director's Cut edition. However, Sam's journey may not be over.

The official Microsoft Xbox Game Pass PC account recently changed its profile picture, adding an image behind the logo that is strongly reminiscent of Iceland and thus of the environments of Death Stranding. Users were fast to point out the resemblance.

Other users considered that the landscape could refer to other games, such as Hellblade II (also inspired by Iceland) or Starfield and some of its planets.

With Gamescom only a week away, Microsoft could be preparing a big announcement for its Game Pass, so we'll have to wait for a confirmation.
