Days Gone movie adaptation in the works?!

Sony is reportedly working to bring the game to the big screen

A film adaptation of Days Gone is in the works, according to Deadline. Days Gone is a post-apocalyptic zombie-themed action-adventure game released in 2019 for the PlayStation 4.

Because of its success on PlayStation, developer Bend Studios and Sony finally brought the game to PC in 2021, where Days Gone gained even more international fans. Despite mixed reactions from players, many praised the game's narrative, which was both entertaining and suspenseful.

Days Gone is set about two years after a zombie outbreak turns people into Freakers. Deacon St. John, the game's main character, is a motorcycle enthusiast.

His adventures are made all the more interesting by the fact that he travels around the wilderness on his favorite motorcycle in search of his wife, who was thought to be dead. Unfortunately, despite the game's financial success, Sony did not approve of a sequel.

So far, no information about the movie's director has been released. What is certain is that Days Gone's screenwriter, Sheldon Turner, has described the script as "a love ballad for motorcycle movies."

In terms of the cast, Deadline reported that Sony has cast an actor to play the role of Deacon St. John. Instead of using Sam Witwer, who previously played Deacon in the game, Sony has enlisted Outlander star Sam Heughan.

Heughan is well-known in Hollywood as a theater actor who has also appeared in several interesting shows. Among these films are The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018), Bloodshot (2020), and SAS: Red Notice (2021).
