TUNIC dev says Xbox Game Pass is a great option

It seems that the team of the popular game is happy with the results

Remember the TUNIC video game? Well, in case you don't know about it, it's a game released in March of this year on Xbox and PC. This indie game drew a lot of attention for being heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda franchise.

Although TUNIC seems like a love letter to the first The Legend of Zelda, if it has its unique touch, this game is almost entirely based on exploration; everything is created so that you go at your own pace.

This incredible game has been available since day one in the Xbox Game Pass catalog, and its creator, Andrew Shouldice, expressed his opinion about his game being on this service.

Andrew Shouldice spoke to the TrueTrophies team at Gamescom 2022 to confirm that TUNIC has been a success and that the Xbox service is an excellent option for everyone:

"Surprising no one, Game Pass is an incredible deal. I use Game Pass; I'm not ashamed to say it. And it was a bit scary to think — it's like ten million people or 20 million people have Game Pass; something like that. It's ridiculous, right? And so the idea that it's just like, oh, yeah, that entire audience can play your game now... I just can't even fathom it.

In addition, he stated that Xbox Game Pass gives any of its users the perfect opportunity to try games that may be unknown, but simply because they are in the catalog, gamers can provide them with a try and be surprised by the results.

On the other hand, Shouldice also talked about what makes a game like TUNIC special, describing some points that helped him achieve it:

"get to the point where you realize there are secrets in it... That's my favourite moment, suddenly realising that — wait a second, this was here the whole time!? There are secret passages all over this place!? That's thrilling to me. And I hope that that was the experience for at least some people with Game Pass. So yeah, Game Pass. Super awesome."

TUNIC is already available on Xbox and PC consoles and will arrive on PlayStation 4 and 5 on September 27.
