Taking advantage of the fact that Microsoft intends to release a new version of the Xbox dashboard next year, thus renewing its appearance and bringing it up to date with the times, the company has launched a series of tests on the Alpha Skip-Ahead channel for Xbox Insiders. These tests will provide users with an early preview of the console's new interface.
Microsoft's technologies and systems, including Xbox consoles, are constantly evolving. Many changes have occurred in the appearance, handling, and functions of the Xbox One since its release.
Despite being a different generation, the Xbox Series X/S remained the same, with the addition of some more visual than functional features, such as dynamic wallpapers. However, in 2023, we will have a new dashboard to enjoy, not only on consoles, as stated in the headline but also on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
According to their official website, Microsoft will conduct tests that will last several months and will take the form of experiments to learn how to create a new experience on the console's home screen while also taking into account the latest trends and fan requests.
Among the new interface's features is a new row of recent games to which we can quickly return, shortcuts to important system applications such as Settings, Store, Search, and My Games, a consistent design, and recommendations of categories and games.
“We know the Xbox homepage is where our gamers spend a lot of their time, and it’s a space that’s very personal,” Ivy Krislov, senior product manager lead for Xbox experiences, elaborated.
Furthermore, Microsoft is investigating the possibility of adding new channels and game collections to the bottom of the interface based on the games we've played, which would also allow us to receive recommendations on how to get the most out of our Game Pass subscription.
