Check out all the details revealed from the COD franchise

So many exciting announcements occurred today during all COD Next, a one-of-its-kind hybrid event with a physical venue but a digital stream alongside hundreds of guest streamers and creators live at the show while announcements occur.

So… what went down on COD Next?

According to the COD team, this new wave of content will offer a new player experience on Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2.0, and Warzone Mobile. Let’s take a deep dive into each one of them!

Modern Warfare 2

First off… here is the world premiere of the multiplayer mode for MW2:

Remember, you can pre-order now your MW2 copy and get access to the open beta (starting tomorrow.)

What’s on with the Multiplayer feature on MW2?

According to the COD Next team, sequels can be tricky, so you keep wondering what to keep from previous titles and how to give a fresh game without spoiling the franchise and story development that comes with it. Here are some of the most exciting details that will arrive in the MW2 multiplayer mode:

Character behavior; there’ll be three types of characters to choose from: rushers (aggressive), centinels (defensive), and
stalker (reactive.)

New movement updates

  • Slide & dive will run more smoothly.
  • Different settings are coming to level up the experience.
  • More detailed interaction with vehicles in a more polished way.

New “Toys”
As we learned from the trailer, many new weapons will enhance strategy and technique decisions as you play.

Gunsmith
This new feature allows you to build out their weapons more smoothly, with unprecedented opportunities; players can unlock universal attachments. This has been introduced as a brand-new weapon blueprint.

Maps & more
For a while now, new maps have been created for specific modes such as battle royale. As large-scale maps have been vastly popular. Nevertheless, the COD team also went for tighter and more refined spaces for the 6v6 feature.

Don't worry; larger maps will still be available. In fact, there are brand-new spaces for you to get lost in! COD Next introduced us to Sarrif Bay, a particular location with its harbor containing new boats and items. Yes, swimming is allowed (and encouraged during battle)! Sarrif Bay is a perfect spot for urban, rooftop, and parkour combat action!

On COD MW2, you’ll also stumble upon Mercado Las Almas, a unique location for the 6v6 mode. As a place designed to be a Mexican, it feels a little cliché, being that the place is controlled by a drug cartel who work in sketchy warehouses. Setting this aside, this map allows a “search and tactical” playability.

6x6
Three new ways of playing 6v6 are coming to MW2; during the digital event, we saw a glimpse of “Prisoner Rescue,” an attack-and-defend mode, very energetic and ideal for adrenaline junkies.

COD WARZONE 2.0

WARZONE 2.0 is out on November 16. For this upcoming title, the same experience and fun, plus the key innovations from MW2, will be a shared asset in the game. The title will share the same universe from MW2, being that they were created and developed together. Mechanics and weapons will also be common ground in Warzone 2.0.

New tech was developed for a new map that I’m sure you’ll absolutely love. Here is AL MARZRAH, an expansive desert with industrial areas, lots of water, and rocky peaks. It’s genuinely vast and mesmerizing. Actually, the most extensive VR map they’ve ever made.

Vehicles
New physics and handling modes are here. Better traction and weight that vary in a realistic way react to explosives accordingly and will run out of gas. Also, you’ll be able to use a massive helicopter to move the whole squad around; you can even lean out the window and engage in battle (unless they blow your door!)

Circles
There will be a new mechanic regarding battle circles. They can now split, so the team will be segregated into small battles until they come back together in a unified battle. An exciting twist in the gameplay!

DMZ
A brand-new extraction mode will be available at launch. Huge possibilities will allow you to define your conditions, accomplish goals and, decide when extractions are suitable; be careful with lethal opponents!

Warzone Mobile

Legendary maps, classic areas, and fields for battle from the COD are coming into a mobile version!

A much more accurate experience on your smartphone, including movement, recoil, and sounds, are better-taken care of and indeed makes a better experience for everyone. Now you can play 120 live players match, leaving bots behind and going against real humans!

With Warzone Mobile, you’ll feel more connected with other titles from the franchise, as you’ll be able to stay in touch with your progress and chat with your friends.

There will also be specific events and content for the mobile game, and what’s more exciting is crossplay on Android, iOS, and consoles! Accessibility just got a new meaning.

You can now pre-register for Warzone Mobile download on Google Play Store (the game launches next year.)

A new era of COD is here. Are you up for it?
