Don’t miss out! Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum launch trailer

Oh, sweet 80’s nostalgia

If you are an 80’s kid or a collectables enthusiast you must know Garbage Pail Kids… in the case you don’t, dont worry, they were a series of sticker trading cards originally released baaaaack in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, not a very long ago they made their comeback.

However, we are not talking about trading cards today! At the beginning of the month publisher iam8bit and developer Retrotainment announced Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale their new game.

Today the title officially arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and NES which is set to receive a special edition cartridge in the first quarter of 2023. So I hope you are ready for some weird stuff.

In case you missed it: Nintendo Switch's retro controllers are now compatible with Steam

Childhood dreams came true

The title takes place after the events of Garbage Pail Kids Mad Mike: Fury Load a series of stop-motion animated shorts launched in 2021 and written by Adam F. Goldberg. The plot of the game set us in that post-apocalyptic world, after saving the day, Mad Mike simply wants his favourite stale gum, but the factory run by Brainy Janie only makes fresh gum.

That prompts an adventure in which Mad Mike will travel through time and space with his friends on a high-tech toilet to collect the ingredients to make it stale.

As expected the game is a retro platforming adventure designed for actual hardware, featuring four playable characters, six secret-filled levels, and a trading-card system, all of this for $10 on your console store or via Steam and Epic Game Store for PC users.

Without further due, here is the official launch trailer:
