In recent weeks it has been confirmed that Embracer Group has closed down the former Square Enix Montreal, renamed Studio Onoma, only a short time before the final halt to its operations.
The gaming giant preferred to focus on other entities, such as Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics, investing the resources initially planned for the now-defunct software house on these teams.
These games will cease to exist soon
As a result, the mobile productions of the former Square Enix Montreal are also set to follow a similar fate: through a Twitter update, Studio Onoma lets it be known that the servers of Deus Ex GO, Hitman Sniper The Shadows, Arena Battle Champions, and Space Invaders Hidden Heroes will be shut down for good on January 4, 2023.
Starting next December 1, these four mobile games will be removed from sale in the App Store and Google Play Store; those who purchased them before that date will be able to continue playing them instead until the server shutdown date scheduled for early in the New Year.
Effective immediately, however, in-game purchases are discontinued, with Studio Onoma urging players to use previously purchased content as soon as possible, as it will not be refunded. The authors conclude their message by thanking fans for playing their productions.

In case you missed it: Nintendo is making refunds for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Square Enix Montreal became Studio Onoma last October, a change that foreshadowed how Embracer Group intended to focus again on the team specializing in mobile games before the sudden closure.
