A few days ago, Microsoft revealed that they had offered Sony an agreement that if the purchase were finalized, it would allow the Call of Duty franchise to be on PlayStation platforms for 10 more years; however, Jim Ryan, the boss from Sony, disagreed with that.

The problem with all this is that regulators continue to investigate whether the purchase of Microsoft would not affect competition in the industry. For this reason, the company continues to fight to verify that it would not take unfair advantage of the competition.

MICROSOFT RECOGNIZES THAT ITS EXCLUSIVES ARE NOT LIKE THOSE OF SONY AND NINTENDO

First thing in the morning, official CMA documents were shared with the details that Sony and Microsoft have shown in each case in the dispute over the approval or blocking of the Activision acquisition. Regarding what Microsoft exposes, the company insists that Xbox would not be taking an unfair advantage because, during the 20 years of its existence, it has yet to be able to keep up with the commercial level of PlayStation or Nintendo. Hence its acquisition strategy seeks to put the brand on par in an even-ground competition environment.

One of the sections, specifically in 3.67, titled Sony, has more exclusive games than Microsoft, and many are better quality.

Sony and Nintendo exclusives are among the best sellers in Europe and worldwide. The company gives an example of the situation it is experiencing in the video game sector, where it has been difficult for it to stand out. Nintendo's exclusive content includes franchises globally established and iconic brands like Super Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing."

Subsequently, Microsoft points out that the reception and ratings of the PlayStation exclusives are much better than their own, with an average of 87/100 on Metacritic, while they have a record of 80/100. With this, the North American company seeks to demonstrate that its current strategy does not seek to affect the industry or its competitors but to obtain the boost it needs so that its gaming offer can be considered at the same level as that of Sony and Nintendo. However, it should be remembered that this position is close to the console sector.
