Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games today, and this leads to a large number of players of different ages. The age range can vary from kids under 13 years old to adults arriving in their 40s, or even more.

With this in mind, Epic Games has decided to create a special account focused on younger players while maintaining optimal and safe parental control. And these are called Cabined Accounts.

How does this account work?

This new type of Epic account provides a tailored experience for younger players. The account will be automatically set as cabined once the age is provided, and the account owner(the child in this case) will be asked to provide a parent or guardian’s email address to begin the parental consent process.

The child can have the same in-game content that was previously bought or acquired and will require some Parental Controls to be set so they can have access to selected features. Once the parent sets up Parental Controls, the experience will respect the settings they select and the account will no longer be a Cabined Account.

You can also go to the Cabined Accounts FAQ if you want to know more about it or its features changes and other questions you might encounter if your child gets to have this account.

Fortnite seems to seek the best gaming experience for everyone keeping it safe no matter the player's age. And this new decision made by Epic seems to be a step on the right foot for parents who want their children to have a tailored but also fun experience.
