Just a few weeks after the announcement of The Perceiver, the interesting project with gameplay mechanics inspired by big productions such as Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Ghost of Tsushima has been shown in a lengthy movie, complete with commentary by the developers.
Through viewing the gameplay video, we can learn a lot of news about the gameplay mechanics, which are strongly inspired by the popular action franchise FromSoftware.
What we learned from this trailer
Just like the Wolf, the protagonist of The Perceiver can use a grappling hook to move nimbly around scenarios and strike both stealthily and more blatantly at the enemy. The combat system itself closely resembles that of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and, in addition to being based on parry and counterattacks, allows the player to come back to life after a defeat thanks to the resurrection mechanic.
During the lengthy gameplay session on PC, the developers showed both a boss fight and small groups of enemies, highlighting how difficult it is to hold off multiple opponents at once. The footage also confirms that it is possible to intervene in the aesthetics of the protagonist, whose outfits are different in the various gameplay moments shown.

In case you missed it: The toy industry keeps growing, and it’s thanks to adults.
For those who do not know, Project The Perceiver does not yet have a release date, and the target platforms are only PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. If you wish to learn more about this title, stay tuned to LevelUp!
