We have received some interesting news about the future of Nintendo since a new rumor has just emerged that suggests that Nintendo Switch will say goodbye at the end of 2024 to welcome a new platform.
As you surely remember, the hybrid console was launched in March 2017 and is about to celebrate its 6th anniversary on the market. Because of this, the community is already waiting for news about a possible successor.
Now, it has been thanks to a recent Nikkei article where there has been talked about it, and it is considered that Nintendo will announce the successor to the Switch, which could be known in the second half of next year.
Meanwhile, the company will focus on meeting its expectations of still selling 20 million Nintendo Switch in what would be its last months of life.
If these data come true, the hybrid console would become the Kyoto platform with the longest life cycle, thus exceeding what was achieved by the NES.
It is worth mentioning that, according to Nikkei, Nintendo has already started talks to produce this new console worldwide, so the days of Nintendo Switch would really be numbered.
Of course, this is all a rumor, and we will have to wait for Nintendo to say something about it sometime this year, or in 2024, so we will be attentive to share any news with you.
