There is no doubt that the NieR series hit the nail on the head with NieR: Automata. Thanks to this latest installment, the franchise was revived and an anime was produced. Unfortunately, the transmission of this production was paused, but the good news is that the wait was not long at all.
The anime NieR: Automata Ver1.1a debuted in early January and was generally well received. However, after episode 3, break ti[M]e, it was reported that the transmission in Japan and through Crunchyroll worldwide would be paused indefinitely due to problems derived from the new wave of coronavirus infections (COVID-19) in Japan.
WHEN WILL THE NIER: AUTOMATA ANIME RETURN?
It had already been 3 weeks without news about it, but the good news came this weekend since it was confirmed that NieR: Automata Ver1.1a will return next week, precisely on February 18.
The TV series aired on January 7 and aired its first 3 episodes normally, but stopped airing after the January 21 episode. Apparently, the time that passed since then was enough for the project managers, Aniplex and studio A-1 Pictures, to move the production forward and circumvent the schedule setbacks related to the contagions.

If you think the wait will be long, don't worry, the creator of the NieR series worked with the anime production to prepare a very cute puppet show that tackles the story of 2B and 9S played by the robots that the protagonists face along their journey. It is presented with the ending theme song of the anime made by amazarashi, and you can watch it below:
