From time to time, the roster of available Agents in VALORANT is refreshed to add more possibilities for players, so whether they are playing casually or competitively, they can find a character that suits their style of play.

The Riot Games-developed shooter currently boasts 21 agents, with Harbor being the most recent introduction to the title following the start of Episode 5, Act 3. And with VCT//LOCKIN underway, many players wondered if the time would be right to reveal more about Agent 22 since 4 months have passed since the aquatic controller's departure had passed.

Fortunately, this wait seems to end within a few patches since John Goscicki, character producer within VALORANT, confirmed the arrival of 3 new agents in the game during 2023 through a development vlog.

VALORANT ROSTER WILL EXPAND TO 25 AGENTS THIS SEASON

After having several operators focused on attack and super-aggressive strategies, Goscicki shared on Twitter that the next characters to arrive in the game will have a more relaxed and eclectic style, allowing for a fair division in the currently available roster.

The first of the Agents to join VALORANT will have more creative ways to reach different points and bring new ways to scout out-of-the-way places and navigate across the map. This would put him in the same group as Chamber, Yoru, and Omen, who all have teleportation abilities.

In addition to this, this new initiator could arrive accompanied by a little friend that will help him relax the atmosphere on the battlefield, as can be seen later in the teaser shown for Agent 22.

Along with this, the next rookies for the title will cover different roles, with one of these being focused on defense as a sentinel, while the last agent does not yet have a defined role, as it is possible in the early stages of development.

However, this does not rule out that Riot wants to introduce a new role for the first time since the release of VALORANT, something that many players have been speculating about for quite some time.

“As always, we need to maintain a good balance of roles and playstyles,” the producer commented. Goscicki also confirmed that not all classes will have the same number of agents, as they don't see the need to have "a perfect one-on-one balance across all roles."

Either way, we'll have to wait patiently to learn more about these new Operators, who will bring more creativity and ways to control this cycle's map.

But tell us, what do you think about what's coming to VALORANT in 2023? What kind of agents would you like to see in this shooter? Tell us in the comments.
