Ubisoft+ has just arrived on Xbox consoles with an attractive library of titles. However, gamers are not entirely happy, as the service comes with a hefty price tag and is not offered as part of Xbox Game Pass. Despite this, Ubisoft believes its platform can succeed on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Philippe Tremblay, director of Ubisoft+, is confident that the service will take off on this new release thanks to its content. He noted that his platform can succeed despite not being part of Xbox Game Pass, as there are still plenty of opportunities in the subscription services market.

Ubisoft sees opportunities to coexist with Xbox Game Pass

According to Tremblay, the subscription services sector still offers opportunities to stand out and compete. For that reason, he thinks Ubisoft+ content is attractive enough to attract the attention of Xbox gamers. This despite it not being available as part of Game Pass.

"We haven't necessarily seen that this market has reached the maximum opportunity here," Tremblay said. "It's still fairly new across the board that we have subscription offers, even from Xbox or other partners out there."

He added that at Ubisoft they know that content is the most important thing when talking about these types of services, as it's what people subscribe to. For such reason, he highlighted the library of games they offer with Ubisoft+. "It's the great content we have behind. That's the point of differentiation that we bring," Tremblay added.

Finally, he noted that Ubisoft+ will serve as a way for Xbox gamers who have not yet enjoyed their games to get to know their franchises. So one of its goals is to reach new audiences through the subscription service.
