Live-action adaptations of manga and anime have an uneven track record, especially in the West. Just remember disasters like Dragonball Evolution and Death Note. Therefore, the community has its doubts about the new One Piece series coming to Netflix. Are we facing another failure?
Concerns about this production increased considerably in the last few hours after a user, with supposed privileged information, declared on their Twitter account that the first test screenings had a very poor reception from the audience.

As for the tone of the show: it’s not really working. The makeup/look of some of the cast look off, and the show jumps between being over the top goofy to being serious, and it’s jarring and inconsistent.
They also built a giant set for Baratie for Episode 3.
Specifically, the Divinity Seeker account stated that both the makeup and CGI looked bad and that the tone of the series is inconsistent, shifting from ridiculous humor to drama. He also commented that the story was difficult to understand for viewers who are not familiar with the original work, while people familiar with the anime were disoriented by the changes in the adaptation. In response, he suggested that the production ordered entire chapters to be rewritten.
Due to the poor track record of Western adaptations of anime and manga, this report triggered alarms and made the community expect the worst. However, should you believe this information?
What happened is that users got to work analyzing Divinity Seeker's track record and the veracity of his words. Thus, they discovered unreliable reports that question the validity of his claims. For example, he previously shared erroneous premises about the sequel to Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and a new Harley Quinn project.
Additionally, Greg Werner, a collaborator of One Piece who constantly works on official projects of the franchise, discredited rumors that reported the alleged failure of the Netflix series in test screenings. "That test audience article you don't need to read, share or click on is completely false," he commented on his Twitter account.
Thanks for this, Greg 😭❤

With this information on the table, it seems that the Divinity Seeker report is false and lacks support. Even so, users are still skeptical and believe that the One Piece show will be unable to meet expectations. Either way, we'll have to wait for more official details.
But tell us, do you have faith in this production? Let us know in the comments.
