Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 made its stellar debut at the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase. Certainly, it's been a long time since there were any official updates on the project's status. The community is beginning to lose patience, and developers are asking for calm.

This week, Insomniac Games announced that the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise soundtrack will appear at the tenth-anniversary concert of The Game Awards. A fan responded to the post and questioned whether the sequel would debut this year, to which the studio developer reaffirmed that the release would take place at some point this fall. Immediately, another user questioned the developers about the delay.

"Is this an automated response? I don't know why it takes you 2 years to show us something," the fan commented. The company responded with a simple and straightforward no. "So why haven't we seen anything for 2 years? The game is supposed to come out in a few months, but they haven't done anything to show us anything," the fan pointed out.

In response, the company confirmed that they're still working on the project. While refraining from revealing more information, they implied that they are making good progress and asked for patience from fans. "Because we're still in the kitchen. It smells good in there, but we just ask for a little more patience," they explained in a tweet.

A more understanding user urged developers to take it easy. "True fans can wait as long as necessary. Patience and compassion, that's the way. All love and respect," they said. The studio thanked them for their encouraging words.

While an official release date is unknown, recent clues suggest that development of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is progressing well. This week, Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker in the game, announced that he had finished his voice acting and motion capture sessions, and Tony Todd, who plays Venom, has already revealed the supposed month of release.

In any case, we'll have to arm ourselves with patience and wait for Insomniac Games to share more official information. Will we see a new trailer at the rumored PlayStation Showcase this summer?

But tell us, are you excited about this title? Do you think the wait will be worth it? Let us know in the comments.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is in development for PlayStation 5.
