Japanese genius considers the company's IPs to be like a "talent agency"

It was inevitable. The success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie showed that this time Nintendo and its partners can venture with greater possibilities of success in a medium outside of video games, and this has motivated the Japanese company to think beyond the current animated film made with Illumination.

The Japanese site Nikkei (via Nintendo Everything) conducted an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, and of course, the topic was the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the possibility that Nintendo will dare to continue down this path, especially since it is the most successful animated film in history. There is good news in that regard as the Japanese genius confirmed that Nintendo is interested in making more movies and will rely on their entire portfolio of franchises.

Miyamoto responded to Nintendo fans' expectations for more movies: "Nintendo is like a talent agency. We have many other artists."

Although he maintained discretion and did not commit to more or reveal details, the Japanese genius made another statement that has only fueled hype for what could come after The Super Mario Bros. Movie: "There are many possible ways to do it, such as using characters that are suitable for movies or also very well-known characters."

The success of the Super Mario Bros. movie led some fans to consider the possibility of a Nintendo Cinematic Universe, and while that sounds very ambitious, it seems that otherwise we will have movies from the most well-known franchises of the Japanese company.
