Nintendo declined to participate in E3, but has confirmed its return to gamescom 2023

German event promises attendance of more video game companies

Many major video game companies have chosen not to support E3, causing the event to be cancelled. However, this does not mean that companies are turning their backs on in-person events. As an example, Nintendo has just announced its attendance at one of the biggest gaming events of the year.

After the fall of E3 2023, there was skepticism about other events scheduled later in the year, such as gamescom 2023. Although the organizers predicted that at least one major company would be present, they did not give names. It has now been confirmed that Nintendo is the company they were referring to. Through a brief message on Twitter, gamescom 2023 announced that the Japanese company will be part of the list of exhibitors at the German event, and all attendees will be able to find a section dedicated to their games. The event will take place from August 23rd to 27th, 2023.

It is worth noting that Nintendo chose not to participate in gamescom 2022, so its return this year marks the end of its short absence. Although it is not yet known which games the company will bring to the event, there may be a surprise or two during the Opening Night Live ceremony.

Furthermore, the gamescom announcement hinted that "many more exhibitors" will be confirmed in the coming weeks, including the possibility of major companies such as PlayStation and Xbox attending.
