PS5 update solved an annoying problem with backward compatibility

Users can now enjoy a popular PS4 game on PS5 as it should be

PlayStation 5 users know that backward compatibility with PlayStation 4 is not perfect. Although some popular games are compatible with the feature, they have presented various errors. Fortunately, the list of problematic games is getting smaller and smaller.

We tell you this because the community verified that the problems with Shadow of the Colossus disappeared recently after an update for PlayStation 5. Thus, players can now enjoy the PS4 version on the current generation console without visual errors.

The Reddit community (via PushSquare) celebrated as an annoying backward compatibility problem with Shadow of the Colossus was finally fixed. The game was displayed on PS5 with texture errors, as sometimes they appeared in low quality or simply some elements did not appear on the screen.

Thanks to a recent update, now textures are displayed correctly and there are no missing elements or unexpected texture flickers. Players celebrated this improvement, as Shadow of the Colossus is one of the standout games in the PS4 catalog.

"Recent updates fixed the Shadow of the Colossus remake on PS5. Before these firmware updates, the game showed really low textures everywhere, even flickering sometimes between high and low-resolution textures. This happened in both performance mode and cinematic mode. But now, the problem has completely disappeared," a player reported.
