For many years, video game adaptations had a terrible reputation for good reason. Fortunately, today, the landscape is much more favorable with good quality productions that respect the essence of the original work. The positive reception from fans and audiences in general is reflected in outstanding audience levels.
As proof of this, we have The Last of Us live-action series, which received almost perfect ratings despite starring in a couple of controversies due to its LGBTQIA+ representation. Its good performance in reviews translated into unprecedented commercial success.
The Last of Us is a success and makes history in Latin America and Europe

In addition to the success of the show based on the PlayStation game, productions like Succession propelled HBO Max and allowed it to reach 97.6 million subscribers by the end of 2023, representing an increase of 1.6 million compared to the last quarter. Of course, it generated economic benefits.
With these data on the table, it is not surprising that Warner Bros. Discovery authorized a second season of The Last of Us series. Details about the plot and the actors who will join the cast are scarce, but a recent report indicated that production will begin soon.
