In the financial report for the first quarter of 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery talked about the good reception of the TV program based on The Last of Us and revealed very interesting numbers.

First, the company confirmed that Naughty Dog's video game adaptation had an average of 32 million viewers per episode in the United States. Additionally, it confirmed that it is already the most successful and viewed TV Show on HBO Max in Europe and Latin America of all time.

In addition to the success of the show based on the PlayStation game, productions like Succession propelled HBO Max and allowed it to reach 97.6 million subscribers by the end of 2023, representing an increase of 1.6 million compared to the last quarter. Of course, it generated economic benefits.

With these data on the table, it is not surprising that Warner Bros. Discovery authorized a second season of The Last of Us series. Details about the plot and the actors who will join the cast are scarce, but a recent report indicated that production will begin soon.
