The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a resounding success for Nintendo, as the new release managed to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide in just 3 days. Through a press release, it was confirmed that Link's adventure is also the fastest selling game in the saga's history.
As if that wasn't enough, Nintendo also confirmed that the sequel is its fastest selling game in America for any of its systems. So, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a huge success by any measure.

According to the details, the new installment of the saga managed to ship 4 million units in the Americas in just 3 days. This makes it the Switch game with the best sales pace in the entire region. For this reason, Nintendo thanked players for their immense support in this launch.
“Many players are returning to Hyrule with all its new mysteries and possibilities, and with the record-breaking launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch, we can’t wait to see what they’ll create in the game and the stories they’ll share next.
“We’re grateful for all of our fans who’ve shown their passion for The Legend of Zelda over the years, and these sales numbers for the latest installment continue to show the strong momentum for both the franchise and Nintendo Switch this year.” said Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications.
The company also took the opportunity to announce that the entire saga has already sold more than 130 million copies globally. This figure includes games sold until March 2023.
