Project Leonardo is Sony's proposal to bring gaming to players with different abilities

The goal of companies that manufacture and distribute video game hardware and devices is clear: to bring gaming to all types of players and ensure no one is left out. For years, people with different abilities were excluded from the scene, but now they have been welcomed thanks to the efforts of companies like Microsoft and now Sony, which did the same with Project Leonardo, a device that now has an official name.

PLAYSTATION ACCESS IS THE OFFICIAL NAME OF SONY'S GAMING ACCESSIBILITY DEVICE

PlayStation presented new details of its accessibility device for video games, which we knew as Project Leonardo but now has the official name PlayStation Access. The announcement was made on the occasion of the World Awareness Day for Accessibility, and Sony showcased its device along with all the customization options it offers to meet the needs of players who want to be part of the gaming experience without being limited by traditional controllers, in this case, the DualSense.

PlayStation Access is a set of interchangeable pieces that adapt to the needs of each player. From the joystick, which has 3 options, its position that can be adjusted, to a whole kit of buttons with different designs and reliefs, Sony's accessibility option has everything necessary for the player to feel comfortable and receive the appropriate response from the controller and what happens on the screen.

Once connected to the PlayStation 5, Access allows for button mapping according to the user's preferences through a simple and intuitive interface. Similarly, the console can support 2 Access controllers and a DualSense at the same time for those who require this option. One of the standout features of Access is the ability to assign toggling to a button so that it will only need to be pressed once to remain on, just like the accelerate button in Gran Turismo 7. Finally, Sony assured that they will soon share more details about Access, perhaps the release date and price.
