Insider worries fans awaiting Star Wars: KOTOR remake

New version of the classic goes through a complicated development process

Many gamers exploded with excitement when in 2021 the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced for PlayStation 5. However, the hype has slowly died down, as we know that the title has had a complicated development process and changed studios some time ago.

Now that the upcoming PlayStation Showcase is just around the corner, many fans are wondering if the remake will reappear in a big way and surprise with a trailer. However, Jeff Grubb, journalist and insider, recently spoke about the project and worried many gamers.

Is the Star Wars: KOTOR remake in troubles?

During a recent edition of Jeff Grubb's Game Mess (via Game Rant), the journalist talked about his expectations and predictions for the PlayStation Showcase and the future of the brand. Someone asked him about the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and whether it would arrive before the new version of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Grubb recalled that Ubisoft did not mention the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in its list of releases for the fiscal year, so everything points to it not coming any time soon. Despite this, he believes that Ubisoft's title will arrive before the KOTOR remake.

Subsequently, he worried Star Wars fans, as he stated that he even believes the KOTOR remake will never arrive. "I don't think the KOTOR remake will ever come out," Grubb sentenced.

The journalist probably recalled all the development problems the game has had and the change of studio it suffered last year. So he sees a not very positive outlook for the title. The point is that it is not clear if he has new information that makes him believe that the remake is lost.

Months have passed with no new details about the title and no company has commented on Grubb's statements. So, it's best to wait for information about the remake. Below you can listen to the journalist's words, at the 44:28 mark of the video:
