The beginning of the end? Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is going through its worst moment on Steam

Is Activision's popular Battle Royale in trouble?

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 debuted in November last year and quickly became one of the most successful Battle Royales on the market, as it addressed many of the problems of the original 2020 title. However, now it struggles to maintain the interest of its community.

While the free-to-play video game received positive feedback from the community, there is no denying that, since its launch, it has been dealing with all kinds of problems: from technical issues to unjustified bans. To that, we must add problems with weapon balancing and other details that have already caused frustration among players.

Despite having an outstanding start, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 now has difficulty retaining the interest of fans. At least, this is what the latest statistical data suggests.

CALL OF DUTY WARZONE 2.0 GOING THROUGH ITS WORST MOMENT ON STEAM, IS IT IN TROUBLE?

Activision's free-to-play title debuted on the right foot and obtained an impressive peak of 488,897 simultaneous players on Steam during its release month. However, since then, its popularity has decreased exponentially, and its numbers show a negative trend. However, in recent days, it reached its historical low.

According to Steam Charts data, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 only reached a peak of 102,040 concurrent users on Valve's platform during the last 30 days, representing a decrease of 19.49% compared to the previous month. While these are enviable figures that many games would like to have, they are well below what was achieved at the end of last year.

At the time of writing this, the 24-hour record is 84,888 simultaneous players, and there are 64,671 active players. Of course, it is impossible to know if there is a similar trend on consoles.

Anyway, it seems that Season 3 was unable to captivate the community. Still, it will be interesting to discover if the next wave of content arriving in June can recapture the interest of players.

But tell us, do you think those figures are worrying? Do you believe that, despite the decrease in players, the Battle Royale is in a healthy position? Let us read your opinion in the comments box.
