The disastrous debuts of console ports on computers are becoming a trend

Ports of console games to PC after the expiration of their exclusivity periods have been distinguished by sounding the alarms in recent years, especially if they come from PlayStation or are related to the brand. Bugs, glitches, optimization problems, everything bad that can happen takes place in the controversial debuts, but fortunately, there is good news for PC users who will wait to play Final Fantasy XVI.

SQUARE PROMISES TO BE CAREFUL WITH FINAL FANTASY XVI ON PC

During an interview with Japanese site ASCII (via Wccftech), Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVI, talked about the game's release on PC once it completes its exclusivity cycle on PlayStation 5. According to the creative, the first thing to consider is that the action RPG was developed solely with Sony's console in mind, but the team knows that after a while, a port for PC will have to be made, and that will become a priority in due course.

In that sense, Yoshida pointed out that they plan to work "very carefully" with the port of Final Fantasy XVI for PC as soon as the title is released on PS5, which will happen on June 22.

Speaking of Final Fantasy XVI and its development process, it was recently revealed that there was a version for PS4 at the beginning, but due to optimization issues and hardware limitations, the successful console was left behind, giving way to the PS5 generation. It should be noted that the development team has praised the hardware of the PS5 and considers it a key piece for Final Fantasy XVI to exist as it was conceived.
