The rise of gaming as the biggest entertainment form in the world has been accompanied by big stars from different sectors. Today, famous people from cinema, TV, sports, music show their favorite video games, and of course, brands have taken advantage of this. In Sony's case, they have the PlayStation Playmakers initiative that has recently signed their new star.

MIKE FROM STRANGER THINGS IS THE NEW PLAYSTATION AMBASSADOR

Through a post on PlayStation's official Twitter accounts, it was revealed that actor Finn Wolfhard is the newest star of the PlayStation Playmakers program, which works with celebrities serving as brand ambassadors showing their love for the Japanese company's titles and their passion for video games. If you didn't know, Finn Wolfhard is known for his role as Mike Wheeler in the Netflix suspense, horror, and action series Stranger Things.

According to Finn Wolfhard, the first game he enjoyed was Final Fantasy X on PlayStation 2, and from there, he got hooked on gaming.

The Stranger Things actor joins stars like LeBron James and LaMelo Ball, NBA stars, and actress and singer Rina Sawayama, who debuted in the Seventh Art playing Shimazu Akira in John Wick 4.

Speaking of PlayStation's social media activity, today the brand angered players by recommending that they throw away the boxes of their consoles, a suggestion that was taken badly by those users who like to have all the complete packaging of their favorite systems either for collecting or nostalgia purposes.
