The Last of Us: Bella Ramsey says Season 2 will be darker, and fans already know what that mean

The new episodes are expected to adapt the second video game in the Naughty Dog franchise

The first season of the series based on The Last of Us won the hearts of millions of fans. It's no wonder as it managed to correctly adapt the game's elements and expand the lore with new stories. Undoubtedly, the hype is through the roof, and the community is eagerly awaiting the start of the next wave of episodes. When will filming begin?

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Bella Ramsey, the actress who played Ellie in the successful HBO production, briefly talked about Season 2. While she refrained from revealing many substantial details, she did give a hint about the tone the new story will have.

THE LAST OF US SEASON 2 WILL BE ABOUT REVENGE AND THE STORY WILL BE DARKER

Specifically, the young actress confirmed that The Last of Us Season 2 will have a darker tone, which will not surprise hardcore fans of the Naughty Dog and PlayStation franchise. We must remember that, according to reports, the new batch of episodes will adapt at least part of the second video game.

"It's darker. It's really a story about revenge and a continuation of the first season about the dangers of unconditional love," said Bella Ramsey in her conversation with the magazine.

Of course, fans who have already enjoyed The Last of Us Part II know that the story presents some of the franchise's toughest and most controversial moments, so it's easy to see what Bella Ramsey means in her statements. Still, it's a mystery whether the HBO adaptation will take some liberties and change the events of the video game.

As reported by Vanity Fair, production for Season 2 will begin in late 2023. However, it remains to be seen if the ongoing writer's strike in the United States, which has already impacted the HBO series, will cause filming to be delayed. We'll have to wait to find out.

But tell us, are you looking forward to the new episodes of this TV show? Would you like the plot to be different? Let us know in the comments.
