Unlocking achievements is great as they serve as a testament to our accomplishments in our favorite video games. There are some that are extremely challenging, but did you know there was one that was actually impossible? So much so that even Microsoft had to remove it, or at least that's what it seems.

Homestead Arcana is a farming game with a touch of magic that recently caught the attention of many for one reason: it has an impossible-to-unlock achievement called "You Can't Be Too Prepared," which rewards players for crafting all of the game's items.

It sounds like something that might be laborious, but is it really impossible? Yes. It turns out the achievement wasn't properly tracking progress, so it was impossible to detect when players obtained specific boots.

The existence of this achievement was a headache for players who wanted to complete Homestead Arcana's achievements list. That being said, it's a measure that Microsoft apparently didn't ignore since the achievement was removed. The 100 points it awarded were distributed among other achievements to maintain its 1000 gamerscore points.

According to TrueAchievements, a site specialized in achievements, this is something that happens very rarely. Usually, when something like this occurs, it's fixed with an update, but it may not have been possible or simply too complicated in this case. However, so far Microsoft hasn't made any comments about it, so we don't know if it was their responsibility or the developer of Homestead Arcana.

Homestead Arcana arrived on Xbox Series X and PC in April. You can play it as part of the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
