Xbox has made it clear on multiple times: Starfield will be exclusive to its current consoles. Despite this and for some reason, there are still several PlayStation fans with hopes of seeing Bethesda's title on PlayStation 5.
This is due to an image circulating on social networks that is related to a recent leak about a new Xbox controller inspired by Starfield. Some people even believe that there will be a surprise announcement about the arrival of the space title on PlayStation 5.
Some gamers still have hopes of seeing Starfield on PS5
As you probably already know, a special edition Xbox controller for Starfield recently surfaced. Shortly after, an image surfaced showing a PS5 DualSense with the same leaked design, which got some PlayStation gamers excited.
This made several people think that Starfield will indeed have a PlayStation 5 version after all. One Twitter user even took a poll on the matter to get his followers' opinion: "Will Bethesda make a surprise announcement that Starfield is also on PS5?" the gamer asked.
Said user believes that Microsoft and Xbox could use Starfield to their advantage, as bringing it to PS5 would demonstrate their commitment to regulators like the CMA to bring more titles to gamers.
The response from most of the community was clear: there will be no surprise announcement for PS5, as the game is entirely exclusive to Xbox. Despite this, the user who made the poll used the image of the DualSense with Starfield design to support his theory.
The community argued that it is an edited image that was made from leaks of the Xbox controller. With memes and all sorts of comments, Xbox users asked PlayStation fans to accept that Starfield will not be coming to PS5 once and for all.
