Alan Wake 2 will have two worlds and narratives

The sequel will offer more exploration freedom compared to the 2010 game

After several months of waiting following its announcement, Alan Wake 2 recently reappeared, and Remedy Entertainment is ready to talk about it and promote it. Details about the gameplay, such as having two worlds and giving players more freedom, will be gradually revealed.

You may recall that a recent trailer revealed a new character, a woman who will play the role of detective in the story. Her name is Saga Anderson, and in a new trailer focused on her, it was revealed that she is an investigator with experience mixed with empathy, but she is new to Bright Falls. She arrived there to take charge of a serial killer ritual case, but it's suggested that she's there not by mere coincidence but by some kind of predestination.

The character is based on the appearance of Melanie Liburd, a British actress who will debut in the video game industry with this role. Not only did she participate in facial capture for the character, but she will also lend her voice.

Will Alan Wake 2 be open-world? In the first game, it wasn't possible to appreciate the scenarios because it was a more linear experience. However, in Alan Wake 2, it will be possible to walk on the streets, discover various places, and revisit locations that fans know well, such as the Oh Deer Diner restaurant (which will soon have collectibles).

Something interesting that Remedy Entertainment revealed is that, as anticipated, the narrative in Alan Wake 2 will be monstrous, apparently referring to its size. We say this because the video talks about the title having two "narratives" and two "worlds," which will project the duality of Alan Wake and Saga Anderson's perspectives, and it was anticipated that each one will have their own styles and modes.

The exploration sections have not yet been shown, so maybe it won't be as extensive as an open world, but it will undoubtedly be more attractive to players. Are you interested in the worlds of Alan Wake 2? Tell us in the comments.

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 17, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
