The game that surprised at the PlayStation Showcase will have Souls elements but won't be as difficult

One of the great surprises of the past PlayStation Showcase was the presentation of Phantom Blade Zero, an action game developed by Hong Kong's Cruel Man Studio that caused a stir due to its graphic style and game proposal inspired by FromSoftware's work. However, the lack of more details has led to speculation, and some think it could be something similar to Genshin Impact, but it won't be, so you can expect a traditional release.

PHANTOM BLADE ZERO WON'T BE LIKE GENSHIN IMPACT

After Phantom Blade Zero caused a stir among the community, Cruel Man Studio clarified some details in a Q&A session (via Wccftech). In it, the studio made it clear that its release will be that of a full-priced title and won't have anything to do with "gacha" proposals or be "free-to-play," clearly alluding to Genshin Impact. Thus, you can take for granted that Phantom Blade Zero will be a traditional game debut and will have all the content.

On the other hand, the Phantom Blade Zero studio revealed that while there is inspiration regarding combat from FromSoftware's work, i.e., a Souls-like game, this installment won't be ruthless with the player: "We don't go all-in on difficulty and punishment. Accessibility is the key here. The idea is that you don't need lightning reflexes or supersonic finger movements to find fun in the game."

Phantom Blade Zero is being developed for PlayStation 5 and PC on Steam and Epic Games Store, although news about an Xbox version are expected soon.
