Will summer end without any news from Nintendo?

PlayStation has already had its summer event, and Xbox's is just around the corner, but what about Nintendo? So far, the company hasn't announced anything in this regard. Fortunately, new information suggests that they do have plans to share news this summer.

According to Jeff Grubb, one of the most reliable journalists in the industry, Nintendo is planning something for the summer. The journalist didn't reveal what it is, but his sources tell him that there may be some kind of Nintendo presentation in July.

"I'll say that I'm hearing something's gonna be in July – next month – whether that is a proper Direct, or like a partner Direct, or a third party showcase Direct... however they want to frame it. A Direct Mini! I have no idea. But it seems like... don't expect anything of that sort, at least until next month. If that even happens at all. Like I said, rumblings, seems pretty likely that something could happen next month with Nintendo. Although a July Direct would be we," said Grubb.

Undoubtedly, the Nintendo community is waiting for news about what could come in the following months. After all, the lineup for the console after the release of Pikmin 4 is a complete mystery. That being said, Nintendo typically holds Directs in June and September, so it's possible that the July event will be something smaller, if it even happens.

What do you think of this news? What kind of Nintendo event do you expect to see this summer? Let us know in the comments.
