The esports scene is in mourning, as the death of Karel "Twisten" Ašenbrener, professional VALORANT player, was confirmed this morning. Team Vitality, the team he played for, confirmed the news through their social networks.

Twisten was a passionate shooter player and managed to stand out at a competitive level despite his young age. According to the details, the 19-year-old took his own life. This was revealed by Harry "Gorilla" Mepham, assistant coach of the team.

The members of the competitive squad regretted what happened and said they were shocked by everything that happened. In response, the esports community united to say goodbye to the player.

Players say goodbye to Twisten, a promising young esports player

Twisten started on the VALORANT professional circuit in September 2020. He went through several teams until he reached Team Vitality, where he earned a place to compete in major international tournaments.

The player dealt with depression for several years and always received support from his teammates, teams and the rest of the esports community. Unfortunately, the situation pushed him over the edge.

"The entire Vitality organization is devastated by the news and we will stop all communications for the rest of the day. Rest in peace Karel," reads part of the statement released by Team Vitality.

Some of his teammates used social networks to mourn his departure, remember the best moments with him and post farewell messages.

"A man with infinite potential, an incredible personality and, most importantly, the biggest heart, making the people around him feel good even when he was down. I still can't believe this is real, and probably never will. No amount of tears can bring my friend back. Rest in peace brother," said player Tomas "Destrian" Linikas.

We at LEVEL UP mourn the passing of Karel "Twisten" Ašenbrener and wish him peace in his final rest.
