Xbox took advantage of its event this week to unveil a new model of the Xbox Series S with more storage. With this in mind, players are wondering if the company is also preparing another Xbox Series X that may be more powerful.
It's no secret that console revisions happen every generation. There are even rumors about a PlayStation 5 Pro and another Xbox Series X. For this reason, Phil Spencer spoke about it and reassured the community.
SPENCER TALKS ABOUT A POSSIBLE MORE POWERFUL XBOX SERIES X, WILL IT HAPPEN?
In the final stretch of the last generation, Xbox surprised us by releasing the Xbox One X, a console that offered greater potential than the Xbox One S. For this reason, many players expect something similar to happen this generation with the Xbox Series X.
However, it seems that Xbox's plans are different this time around. We know this because Bloomberg asked Spencer about a hypothetical more powerful Xbox Series X. The executive said he didn't see it as necessary because they're satisfied with their current hardware.
"That's not the feedback we're hearing right now. Right now we're pretty happy with the hardware we have," Spencer revealed.
That being said, everything indicates that there won't be an Xbox Series X Pro, at least not in the short term. We know that the company is working on other hardware projects, such as KeyStone, a device intended for Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, the executive stated that they had heard complaints from the community regarding the storage of the Xbox Series S. That's why they decided to launch a system with a larger SSD.
Therefore, the new version of the less powerful console responds to a need of the community and doesn't necessarily mean that there will also be a more powerful Xbox Series X.
