It seems that Netflix isn't satisfied with launching movies, series, and video games - now the company wants to embark on a new adventure we never expected to see. It turns out that the streaming service is about to open a restaurant called Netflix Bites.
Sounds very strange, doesn't it? However, it makes more sense than it seems. It's a pop-up restaurant (meaning it will only be open for a limited time) where Netflix wants to offer culinary experiences inspired by its series and documentaries related to the world of gastronomy.
In this way, diners at Netflix's restaurant will have the opportunity to try dishes designed and prepared by chefs and bakers from programs like Chef’s Table, Is it Cake?, Iron Chef, and Nailed It!
The chefs who will be part of Netflix's restaurant are:
- Curtis Stone ― Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend
- Dominique Crenn ― Chef’s Table, [i]Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend
- Rodney Scott ― Chef’s Table: BBQ
- Ming Tsai ― Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend[/li] [li]Ann Kim ― Chef’s Table: Pizza
- Nadya Hussain ― Nadiya Bakes
- Jacques Torres ― Nailed It!
- Andrew Zimmern ― Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend
As you can see, it's not as if Netflix wants to compete head-to-head with famous restaurants like Cosme, Blue Hill, or Alinea. Rather, it's a promotional attempt to highlight the great gastronomy productions that you can only find on Netflix.
If you're interested in going, Netflix Bites will be located at Short Stories Hotel at 115 S Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles, California, United States. The restaurant will open its doors on June 30th, and it's unknown how long it will remain open.
So, what do you think of this restaurant idea? Do you think Netflix should expand this idea? Tell us in the comments.
