Wealthy individuals often attract attention, either involuntarily or voluntarily, though it is more common for them to seek it out themselves. Such is the case with Elon Musk, who has just challenged the creator of Facebook to a fight, and apparently, the event will take place.

Some may think this is clickbait, but it is not. The title is true and accurate: Elon Musk, the magnate who founded Tesla and bought Twitter this year, has challenged Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook (Meta), to a duel.

The interaction between Musk and Zuckerberg occurred on the night of June 21 after Meta's plans to create a Twitter competitor were announced, and Meta executive Chris Crox suggested that Twitter users supposedly want a platform run by "sane people," implying that Twitter's leadership is not.

Is the fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk real? When will it take place?

Thus, on the night of June 21, Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a fight: "I'll fight him in a cage if he wants."

Contrary to what was thought, the Facebook founder did not ignore the proposal and through an Instagram story shared a screenshot of the conversation and added "send the location," suggesting that he accepts the challenge and is ready.

The reader could take this as a joke, but at least Zuckerberg is serious about it. Not only is it his authentic Instagram account, but Meta spokeswoman Iska Saric confirmed it to The Verge: "The [Zuckerberg's Instagram] story speaks for itself."

Musk will not back down and shortly thereafter expressed that the meeting would be in the "Vegas octagon."

Celebrity fights are not unusual, but fights between magnates who were once leaders of the two most important social networks in the world are. So, if it materializes, this event would be one of the most transcendental of the century or perhaps the millennium.

Musk is 51 years old, while Zuckerberg is 39. The Facebook creator is also known for his passion for exercise and his physical condition to such an extent that he has won Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, apart from completing the Murph Challenge, which consists of a demanding exercise routine, in less than 40 minutes.

But so far, there is nothing formal, and we will have to wait if both billionaires decide to let this joke become a reality. We'll keep you informed.
