Respawn Entertainment is seeking new employees to join their team

Star Wars is one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, so it's no surprise that it has a multitude of video games under its belt. One of the standout series is Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts' Star Wars Jedi, which has presented an interesting story and enjoyable combat system across 2 games. Well, it seems that a third installment may already be in production.

According to findings by the Tech4Gamers portal, Respawn Entertainment is seeking new employees to join their Star Wars Jedi team. Although the job listings provide no specific information about the nature of the new project, some details suggest that the chosen candidates will be involved in the third adventure of Cal Kestis.

Star Wars Jedi 3 may already be in development, according to job vacancies

For the Senior Combat Designer position, it states that the applicant should have a "passion for melee combat systems." Additionally, the Lead Game Writer position describes the new project as "a fun third-person action-adventure setting."

Finally, the Senior VFX Artist vacancy mentions that experience with Unreal Engine 5 is preferred, suggesting that the third installment may move away from the previous version of Epic Games' renowned game engine.

Certainly, the information from these job listings describes elements present in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, so it's easy to assume that EA has given the green light to the production of a third installment. However, the company has not yet confirmed the existence of the project, so we recommend tempering expectations.

That being said, a new installment seems plausible. Director Stig Asmussen revealed a few months ago that he envisioned Cal Kestis' story as a trilogy. Considering that the second title met Electronic Arts' commercial expectations, it's likely that a new game is already in the works.

However, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor faced controversy at launch. While it received high praise from critics and players, the PC port debuted with numerous performance issues and bugs. EA and Respawn Entertainment acknowledged the problems and apologized.

But tell us, would you like to see a new installment in this franchise? Let us know in the comments.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
