Months ago, Sony revealed the Access Controller, a new controller for PlayStation 5. In case you don't remember, the product was introduced as Project Leonardo, a controller focused on accessibility that will allow more people to enjoy video games.
The company finally revealed more details about the controller this morning, so we now know its official release date and price. Additionally, Sony provided details about everything this interesting and useful peripheral will include upon its launch.
When will the Access Controller for PS5 debut and how much will it cost?
The Access Controller will have a global release later this year. To be precise, it will hit stores on December 6th. Pre-orders will start on July 21st, which is next week. It will be sold for $89.99 USD.
Now, what will the controller offer? It is a highly customizable peripheral that will allow players to change the button layout, joysticks, as well as use accessories of different shapes and designs.
Additionally, it will allow the connection of third-party accessories and configuration from a console. It will be possible to create up to 30 control profiles to use in specific situations according to the user's needs. Users will be able to link multiple Access Controllers and even connect them to a DualSense.
The product will include the base, 4 expansion ports for accessories, 19 button caps of different shapes, 3 joystick caps, 23 buttons, and a USB Type-C cable for connection.
