No one imagined that Sony would prepare a live-action series of Twisted Metal, especially considering how forgotten the franchise has been in recent years. However, the project is now a reality, and surprisingly, one of the most excited about it is the actor portraying Sweet Tooth, as he grew up playing the series' titles.
Wrestler and commentator Nuufolau Joel "Samoa Joe" Seanoa is responsible for physically portraying Sweet Tooth, the main villain of Twisted Metal, and the fans have been pleased with the choice, as his appearance is similar to the character. The interesting part is that Seaona was not new to the series when he joined the production.
Samoa Joe is a Fan of Twisted Metal
This is because Seanoa confessed that in his youth, he owned a PlayStation and used it to play Twisted Metal. The actor also mentioned that he had played all the titles in the series up to Twisted Metal Black.
"I grew up playing Twisted Metal," the actor commented. "I think if you had a PlayStation - and I think almost everybody did - it was one of the few launch titles; it was awesome, it was what you showed off to your friends (...) so when I got the opportunity to be Sweet Tooth, I couldn't do anything but accept it."
Seanoa also revealed that those involved in the project were able to play Twisted Metal on the set, as Sony provided them with a copy, but since he had trouble getting an original copy, the team played it almost at the end of the filming.

Sony didn't give Samoa Joe a Sweet Tooth mask
Another interesting detail that Seanoa revealed is that, as a true fan of Twisted Metal, he tried to take a mask of his iconic character from the set, but he never succeeded.
"They wouldn't let me [keep a mask]," the actor confessed. "I made a hard push to steal one from the set, to the point where I looked as [stealthy] as Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible."
"But our costume team is very good at what they do, and they always kept them away from me. Probably because of the mayhem I would cause with the mask on," Seanoa joked to ComicBook. "Don't worry, Halloween is coming, and I have my ways."
