100 Thieves sends a signal that they are about to rebuild their VALORANT team

The end of an era marks the beginning of a new one

Several teams are gearing up for a new competitive cycle in VALORANT. Some are looking to reinforce their rosters, while others are aiming for a complete overhaul. It appears that 100 Thieves is in the latter group.

Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, the General Manager of VALORANT at 100 Thieves, departed from the organization on July 31st. For many, this is a sign that the organization wants to undertake a complete rebuild of their team to participate in VCT 2024.

"While I'm sad I won't get to apply all the valuable lessons from this year to continue building the program, I'm extremely grateful for all the people I connected with and will cherish those relationships going forward," said ddk.

ddk joined 100 Thieves in March 2022 with the goal of rejuvenating the squad for a new season. During his time with the team, their biggest achievement was winning the Red Bull Home Ground championship in December 2022.

Let's recall that a couple of weeks ago, 100 Thieves was defeated by Sentinels in the VCT Americas Last Chance Qualifier. As a result, the team was eliminated from the 2023 VCT season after failing to qualify. Therefore, ddk's departure seems to be a signal that the organization is seeking a radical change to shine once again in the competitive VALORANT scene.
