The almost approval of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard resulted in the revival of the online experience of several classic Call of Duty titles. Some players think that this could be Xbox anticipating the arrival of these games to Xbox Game Pass, but nothing official has been confirmed yet. However, not all the news is good for some fans who, motivated by the excitement, tried their luck on another platform, only to find a surprise.
Is Call of Duty still alive on Nintendo Wii?
Amidst the hype for the return of online play in classic Call of Duty games, some players attempted to do the same with their copies on Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately, they were greeted with a message indicating that online support for this console has ended, so it's not possible to play matches with other users. Similarly, some Nintendo DS users did the same and encountered the same situation, though both cases include a message of gratitude from the developers.

In case you didn't know, during the rise in popularity of Call of Duty, Activision made efforts to bring their titles to different platforms, including the successful Nintendo Wii. Despite the technical limitations, a version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with less content was achieved, titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex. Later, the console saw the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it concluded that era with the debut of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Although these were inferior ports compared to what was available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, these titles stood out for their use of the Wiimote, which proved to be ideal for a first-person shooter in terms of aiming.
