PlayStation wants to compete with Xbox in cloud gaming, so it recently launched a new feature for PlayStation 5 in Beta. We know that this interesting new feature is part of a larger and more ambitious project known as Project Cronos.
Thanks to a report from Insider Gaming, we now know more details of this initiative with which PlayStation wants to get into cloud gaming once and for all. The media leaked information about the infrastructure and the release date of the cloud gaming for the general public.

Details of Project Cronos, PlayStation's cloud-based gaming, revealed
According to the details, Project Cronos refers to a new streaming architecture that Sony has been working on for several years. It aims to deliver everything needed to make cloud gaming on PlayStation 5 an optimal experience for gamers and serve to expand the brand's reach.
The report reveals that preparations for Project Cronos began 5 years ago. Its concept is based to some extent on the capabilities of the PlayStation 5 SSD, whose features held Sony back from developing the project faster. This was due to several technical challenges that arose.
It was then that Sony and its Future Technology Group team created a network storage solution based on PCIe technology (NTB) and PlayStation 5 coprocessors. Thanks to this, the company will offer special servers called Kura that can read up to 5 GB per second with a latency below 1 millisecond.
This would explain that PlayStation 5 cloud gaming can offer up to 4K resolution even in its testing phase. It was revealed that the company plans to have 28 data centers to power this feature at launch.
Although for now there is no exact date for its general release, sources say it will be ready sometime this year or early 2024, before the end of March. With this, PlayStation would seek to compete with popular cloud gaming services, such as Xbox Cloud Gaming,
